Mrs Aina Wright Moore, the Managing Director of Eco Bank, Sierra Leone, who doubles as the current 1st Vice President of the West African Bankers Association (WABA), was among the high-level West Africa Bankers delegation that met President Muhammadou Buhari at Aso Rock, Nigeria’s State House on Tuesday.
According to Nigeria’s State House website, (https://statehouse.gov.ng), President Buhari called on the West African banking executives to tackle the economic challenges facing the sub-region.
“ President Buhari told the association, founded in 1981, which brings together over 250 commercial banks and 15 institutions from across West Africa, that, for many centuries, African countries have traded with one another without a formalized and structured system.“ Nigeria’s State House website reported.
The WABA executives were led by their president Thierno Saidou Nourou Sy.
