NYC Begins Regional Reflection Session On Issues Affecting Children

The National Youth Council (NYC) has begun a 7-day reflection session with members of the Children National Assembly of The Gambia and the decentralised structures on issues affecting children within the country.

The session started in Basse, Upper River Region wherein participants from Local Government Authorities/Councillors, members of the Village Development Committees, Department of Social Welfare, child welfare unit under the Gambia Police Force, NSGA, Chief, women groups, religious leaders, health sector and Regional Youth Committee converged to discuss as stakeholders on matters affecting children.

This is meant to create an avenue for the children and stakeholders to have an interface in collectively bringing up workable solutions. This activity is funded by United Nations Peacebuilding Fund through UNICEF -The Gambia is been implemented by the National Youth Council (NYC).

The next stop is Janjanbureh, Central River Region (CRR).
